Ethos

The ethos of our school is to promote Catholic teaching and values. Implicit in this is to respect the rights of all children and their parents regardless of their denomination.

While Castleplunkett NS is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also gives due recognition to children of all other religious beliefs and none.

The vision that underpins Catholic education is rooted in the life of Jesus Christ and emphasises that every person is made in the image of God. Parents, teachers and the parish work together in providing a child-centred education which includes preparation for the sacraments.

Castleplunkett NS is a co-educational, Catholic primary school, which strives to provide a well ordered, caring, happy and secure atmosphere where the academic, spiritual, moral, physical and cultural needs of the pupils are identified and addressed.
